BMHCA (Butylphenyl methylpropional), CAS NUMBER: 80-54-6, also known by the common name Lilial

Con La newsletter di febbraio vi avevamo illustrato la situazione per il Butylphenyl Methylpropional (CAS 80-54-6) informandovi che durante la Riunione Working Group Cosmetics tenutasi a Bruxelles il 28 novembre 2019 presso la Direzione Generale GROWTH era emerso che questo ingrediente, presente nelle fragranze, sarebbe probabilmente stato classificato come CMR (Repr 1B).

The harmonized classification as Repr .1B has been formalized in the delegated Reg. 1182 published in the OJEU of August 11, 2020 with entry into force 20 days after publication (therefore August 31, 2020) and application 18 months after entry into force, i.e. from March 1, 2022.

 

ZINC PYRITHIONE, CAS NUMBER: 13463-41-7

As anticipated in the July newsletter, the harmonized classification of this substance as Repr. 1B

This substance was also included in Delegated Regulation 1182 published in the OJEU on August 11, 2020 with entry into force 20 days after publication (thus August 31, 2020) and application 18 months after entry into force i.e. from March 1, 2022.

 

Stessa sorte anche per il SODIUM HYDROXYMETHYLGLICINATE (CAS 70161-44-3), attualmente utilizzato come conservante e presente in All. V, n.ord.51, ora classificato come Carc. 1B, Muta. 2 e per il METHOXYETHYL ACRYLATE (CAS 3121-61-7) con classificazione armonizzata come Repr. 1B, Muta. 2.

 

Vista la classificazione, i 4 ingredienti sopra citati saranno prevedibilmente vietati per uso cosmetico e saranno inseriti, contestualmente al prossimo Omnibus Act , in All. II del Reg. 1223/2009.
